Registration
Under Hawaii laws, students are required to attend the Hawaii Public School in the geographic area in which they reside. However, permission to attend another school may be granted by submitting a GE application. GE applications for the next school year should be submitted between January 1 and March 1 to facilitate a decision before the end of the school year. However, applications for the current and next school year may be submitted at other time periods. Geographical exception information is found on the HIDOE website).
PARENTS - If your child is absent please submit a note upon your child’s return to school. You may also email registration at g-296-em-registration@k12.hi.us.

How to Enroll: Please gather below documents and download all forms prior to beginning the enrollment process.
Checklist of required documents:
Student's Birth Certificate.
Legal parent's picture ID with signature
Two (2) current Proof of Residency (POR) documents. POR documents we prefer are monthly billing statements for utility service to your home address such as electricity, cable, water, and gas bills. POR must clearly state the legal parent's name, current physical address and date of service provided.
Legal Custodial Documents: If physical custody is awarded to one parent, please provide your most current court custodial documents.
Legal Guardianship: If student do not reside with a natural parent, please provide the original legal guardianship documents.
Certificate of Release: Please make appropriate arrangements with your current school to have your release packet ready on your child's last day of attendance. In this release packet, please check that following documents are included:
a) Promotion Status
b) Final report card*
c) Test scores*
d) Health records* (Check DOE website on health requirements if new to Hawaii.)
*If your current school is unable to provide these items, please bring your parent copies of these documents.
Special Services: If your child is receiving any special services or have an accommodation plan (IEP, 504, ELL), please bring your most current plan for appropriate placement.

If Previous School is a Private or Mainland School: Request of Records for Non-HIDOE Schools
To submit your registration online, please upload ALL the completed enrollment forms (all six) and ALL the supporting documents listed below (any format accepted, such as PDF, photo, jpeg).
NOTE: Please check prior to registration that you have all your registration documents and forms completed. Missing documents or incomplete forms may delay your child’s registration.
